Well now, I had thought summer flew by so quickly because I was in a newborn fog, but fall is clicking right past us too. We are like a little raft being swept along the busy river of life. Here is where the river has taken us these past couple of months.

Charlotte “Cheeks” has amazed us with her growing skills.

We flew to Kentucky where we visited family…

… got a taste of the wide-openness of country life (yes, that little speck is Eleanora running around, happy and carefree as Fraulein Maria on a mountaintop)…

And now here we are barreling towards Thanksgiving. Hubba Bubba and I are hosting a small family celebration this year, and I’ll be using my own Thanksgiving Schedule to get organized. I don’t have any *new* Turkey Day recipes to share this year, but if you’re looking for appetizers, sides, or desserts how-to’s, you’ll find plenty of classics already on my RECIPES page.

I did, however, make a new music list for the Thanksgiving meal. I’ve put together an hour-long collection of (mostly) jazz piano numbers that are festive, warm, and casual. So put on your stretchiest sweatpants, grab a second piece of pie, and enjoy.

THANKSGIVING 2013 PLAYLIST

  1. The River and the Woods – Thanksgiving Piano Maestro
  2. Variations on the Kanon by Pachelbel – George Winston
  3. Thanksgiving Theme – Vince Guaraldi Trio
  4. Gravy Waltz – Oscar Peterson & Ray Brown
  5. I Got Rhythm – Teddy Wilson
  6. Be Thou My Vision – Network Music Ensemble
  7. Take Five – Dave Brubeck
  8. The Lady Is a Tramp – Marian McPartland
  9. Some Day My Prince Will Come – Dave Brubeck
  10. We Gather Together – Network Music Ensemble
  11. Someone to Watch Over Me – Teddy Wilson
  12. Holy, Holy, Holy – Larry W. White
  13. Jesus Loves Me – Dominion Jazz Players
  14. Simple Gifts – Network Music Ensemble
  15. Christmas Is Coming – Vince Guaraldi Trio

And I still owe you a quiche recipe, which I’ll get posted as soon as I can. It’s surprisingly easy and would be SO good for Christmas brunch. It’s already time to think about that, you know.

Merrily we roll along,

Hannah
