I hope everybody had a nice weekend! Ours was very chill and relaxing. (Not many of those in our future, so we’re taking what we can get.)
A lot of you have asked about my camera. It is a Nikon D90. It was a gift from my grandparents this past April, so I haven’t had it very long and we are still getting to know each other. And even though I’m no expert, I do love it.
For my food photos, I use a 50 mm 1.1:8d fixed lens. Basically that means 2 things to me:
1. It doesn’t zoom. I have to zoom with my feet, so to speak, by physically moving closer or farther away.
2. Because it has a low aperture number (1.8), it gives you the ability to get that really crisp foreground with a blurry background.
For everything else, I use the kit lens that came with the camera, which allows me to zoom but doesn’t have as low an aperture number, so you get less of that blurry background effect.
Here’s a shot of both the camera and the baby bump. 31 weeks today! (Sorry, I didn’t dress up for you. I’m in my Bar Method clothes here.)
xoxo,
P.S. Happy Birthday to my grandfather, aka “Papaw,” aka the giver of the Nikon D90 (along with Mimi). Papaw is the big photographer in our family, and his impressive photo-taking throughout the years was my inspiration for wanting a camera of my own. THANK YOU, Papaw, and have a wonderful birthday!
