Remember this post from the summer, when we tried futilely to get a photo of Eleanora and her Cousin Cooper together? (Of course you do.) Well perhaps the only thing harder than snapping a decent photo of two babies is getting a good shot of two active toddlers. Allow me to demonstrate.

ATTEMPT #1:
Thursday, December 22. Cooper couldn’t take his eyes off Eleanora’s new pink princess riding toy long enough to look up at the camera…

…while Eleanora was left wondering why she got stuck with the “old” toy.

ATTEMPT #2:
One hour later. Eleanora wasn’t feeling it.

ATTEMPT #3:
Friday, December 23. Camera?

What camera?

I don’t see any camera.

ATTEMPT #4:
Christmas Day with Shae-Shae. Eleanora (on Pacific Time) had just woken up, while Cooper had already endured a long, “Santa brought me a train table!” type of morning.

What you don’t see in these shots is the Nikon-bearing paparazzi swarm of adults behind the camera, chirping, whooping, and clicking our tongues to get the kids’ attention, sounding like a tribe of African bushmen at a Tourette’s convention.

Deciding it would be less annoying to get locked in the bird room at the zoo than to keep listening to ourselves… we finally gave up. We’ll just get a photo when they’re together again next summer.
