Blog reader Mary emailed me yesterday asking about my Christmas playlist. I l-o-v-e to geek out by making playlists for any occasion I can think of (Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving, having friends over for pizza, anything). And when it comes to Christmas, I have a few playlists, organized by mood. (See? I wasn’t kidding about the geeking out.) These are some of my favorite highlights. And since I don’t want to post repeats — that would be hacky — here’s a link to the playlist I posted last year, which is still very much in the rotation this year.

7 CommentsOne night before Thanksgiving, I somehow persuaded Mike to watch the second episode of Oprah’s Favorite Things with me. I oohed and ahhed over sequined Ugg boots, diamond earrings, and a Coach bag… but quickly lost interest when Oprah introduced Johnny Mathis to sing a Christmas song.

My friend Sasha — a fellow big-sister who very accurately (and perhaps somewhat kindly) referred to me as “Type A” — requested a peek at the Thanksgiving playlist I mentioned in this earlier blog post. When selecting music for a dinner playlist, I like to stick with a loose theme. This year I’m going for a jazzy, piano-y, holiday-ish sound and keeping lots of Vince Guaraldi (most famous for scoring “Peanuts”), Oscar Peterson, and George Winston in rotation. I also threw in a taste of the Carwiles, a Kentucky-based couple who happen to be two of the most renowned bluegrass artists in the nation.So here’s my Thanksgiving Dinner Playlist:
