Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Opportunities are available for skilled Special Education Teachers to serve in self-contained elementary and preschool classrooms located in the New Windsor, NY area. These full-semester, contract assignments provide a supportive educational environment where student groupings are thoughtfully designed based on IEP needs, functioning levels, and, when applicable, individualized behavior plans.

Classrooms typically range in size from 6 to 12 students and are staffed with one teacher and three support personnel to ensure meaningful engagement and progress. These positions focus on delivering tailored instruction to meet the diverse needs of students referred by public schools.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) aligned with state standards and student needs
• Manage classroom environments effectively for varying group sizes and support personnel
• Address behavioral challenges through established plans and proactive strategies
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and district staff to facilitate student growth
• Monitor and document student progress regularly

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid Early Childhood and/or K12 teaching certification in Special Education preferred
• Experience working with students in kindergarten through third grade or preschool special education settings
• Ability to manage self-contained classrooms with students requiring specialized support
• State clearances required for employment consideration
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in educational settings

Locations and Schedules:

• Kindergarten/Elementary Special Education Teacher: MondayFriday, 8:30 AM 3:30 PM
• Preschool Special Education Teacher (SFP Program): MondayFriday, 8:00 AM 3:00 PMBoth positions are situated in New Windsor schools serving the local community.
