Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Remote Content Moderator on a contract basis for a major social media network. This vital role involves reviewing, monitoring, and moderating user-generated content to ensure compliance with community guidelines and to maintain a safe online environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Content review and moderation

• Monitor and review user-generated content on the social media platform to ensure compliance with community guidelines and policies.
• Identify and take appropriate action on content that violates terms of service, including offensive, harmful, or inappropriate material.

Quality assurance

• Maintain high-quality standards for content moderation processes.
• Provide feedback on moderation tools and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

User safety and support

• Respond to user inquiries and reports related to content issues.
• Collaborate with the safety team to address and resolve user concerns and complaints.

Reporting and documentation

• Keep accurate records of moderated content.
• Generate reports on content trends and moderation activities.

Team collaboration

• Work closely with other moderators and teams to coordinate efforts and share best practices.
• Participate in regular training and update sessions to stay informed about platform changes and moderation guidelines.

Requirements:

• Experience in content moderation, community management, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and their impact on society.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify subtle nuances in content.
• Solid judgment and decision-making skills, with an ability to act quickly and effectively.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Comfortable with exposure to sensitive or graphic content.
• Basic technical proficiency and a reliable internet connection.

Expected KPI

• Expected to maintain a rate of 95% or above. This KPI measures the effectiveness in correctly identifying and handling content in line with the platform’s guidelines.

This contract position offers an hourly rate ranging from $20 to $25, depending on experience and qualifications.
