Litigation Attorney/Of Counsel: Civil Litigation within Educational Law

We are a midsized, womenowned education law firm with a statewide practice dedicated to representing school and community college districts. Our litigation practice handles landmark cases that shape the future of education law.

Remote / Hybrid schedule is available.

About the Role

As a senior Litigation Attorney / Of Counsel, you will lead complex civil litigation matters from initiation to resolution, including arbitration, mediation, and trials, while representing public entities.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex civil litigation matters from initiation to resolution, including arbitration, mediation, and trials.
• Lead matters, manage deadlines, and ensure progress.
• Demonstrate excellent writing, research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Exhibit strong leadership skills and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
• Work on a variety of legal matters arising in representing public entities.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in Student/Special Education or Constitutional/Civil Rights cases, with experience in discrimination cases particularly helpful. Preferred: civil litigation/public entity liability defense experience.
• Strong casemanagement, writing, research, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work on diverse legal matters and manage multiple projects.
• Preferred background in education law, public entity representation, insurance defense, and/or personal injury defense.
• Admission to the California State Bar.
